Wells Antiques has acquired a large inventory of tiles from a world class collection!
We are proud to announce that we have recently added a rich collection of art tiles amassed over the long and celebrated career of noted dealer and author Norman Karlson. Owing to the truly museum-class breadth of this collection, we now have a large selection of European tiles as well as many more tiles from various noted East Coast and Midwestern makers. For lovers of 19th century tiles, we now have arguably more Victorian, Art Nouveau, Aesthetic Movement and transfer tile stock than any other dealer in the country. A significant percentage of the tiles are depicted in Mr.Karlson’s authoritative, four-volume set “The Encyclopedia of American Art Tiles.” Many of these tiles have a label on the reverse depicting the illustration number from these volumes.
