Robertson Pottery, No. Hollywood, CA  1934-1950

Fred Robertson started making pottery in 1903 with his father in San Francisco.  He moved to Los Angeles in 1906, where he started working at the L.A. Pressed Brick Company.  He is known for his luster and crystalline glazes.  This signed bowl is one of his pieces.  It is heavy with Persian blue glaze with shades of mauve peeking through.  The outside of this beautiful bowl is glossy and the interior has a matte finish.
